Thomas Butler started his career prior to 1787 and specialised in producing patent furniture, although he appears not to have taken out any patents of his own. See Christopher Gilbert, ‘Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840’, pp.125-131 for related tables and his original hand bill.
